It’s hard to stay motivated in medical school and you will have bad days but here’s how I approach it and get maybe get you to stay on the journey.

There are days where you remember why you chose to spend so much $$$ to study medicine and other days where you don’t want to see anybody. I’ll be honest, med school takes a lot out of you. Sometimes preparing for the USMLE or the next test or others can gets a lot of your time.

Maybe you’ll miss a game here or there, or time with friends and family or even a date and you occasionally, you’d ask is it worth it!? What keeps so many of aspiring doctors from med students to premeds going on the path to becoming a doctor!?

What kept me going at the start, kept adding as I got closer and closer to becoming a doctor. I was reminded by the impact of not only my work but other doctors and how that person we treated can go back home and make an impact in their own way.

Not everyone will have the exact same motivation for med school. But you have to reflect and remember why you wanted to be a doctor in the first place.
