LONELY PLANET (2011) - A film by Edan Zeira.
Drama/Adventure - World Cinema - Indie Film
Hebrew/Russian- English Subtitle
Synopsis:
A film crew sets out on a journey along the Trans-Siberian track, which is 9000 km. long and crosses half the world, from Moscow to Vladivostok, in order to find Mishka and film a documentary about him.
Mishka, whom they are searching for, was a child during WWII who hid out from the Germans in the forests on the Polish-Russian border. For 3 years, he lived among a pack of wolves until the Red Army reached that area and discovered him.
The film crew travels to Siberia and films their search for Mishka, whose
whereabouts is much more difficult to discover than they initially expected when they set out on their journey.
Throughout this journey they encounter many different and unusual people who live in Siberia. They discover a world in which time seems to have stood still, thus complicating their journey. They find themselves literally "at the end of the world."
Truth, reality and fantasy are combined in this film and create a fresh, new combination, never seen before.
