Binary triggers have gotten quite popular but they do cost a lot. Here’s a comparison of what a M16A1 clone looks like firing in semi-auto vs firing in Binary, vs a full auto M16A1. Shocking comparison!
Short hostory: The M16A1 was adopted by the U.S. Military in the 1960’s to replace the outdated M14 Battle Rifle. It was used heavily during the cold war era, especially during the Vietnam War. It wasn’t well received at first and still has somewhat of a tainted reputation with Vietnam War Veterans. In 1982, the U.S. Military would adopt the updated M16A2 to replace the A1.
