Hi this is Surya , welcome to Health Bytes, Where we discuss a range of issues covering health, fitness and wellbeing.
Today we will discuss about some things which we can do to increase resilience in teams.
People undergo change and express their emotional responses in ways that are personal to them.
Some people progress through the curve at a faster rate than others, and some experience emotions much more intensely.
It's important to determine where they are emotionally on the change curve in order that you can work with them better.
Keep in mind that everyone reacts differently.
Some people will readily show their emotions and be outwardly emotional, whilst others will experience
their emotions much more internally.
You should try and not judge how a person experiences change as each person will experience it differently according to other things that are going on in their life, their personality, their behaviour, their
attitude, and a whole host of other reasons. In order to strengthen other people's resilience,
in the first instance, it's important to remind them of what isn't changing - what's actually staying the same. Look for opportunities for them to network and increase their social connections.
However, the most important consideration is to increase the levels of communication about the coming changes and the challenges that people are facing.
There's no way that you can provide too much communication during change. Shift any negativity away from what's going wrong to what can be done to put things right. It's important as well, to acknowledge that they're going to experience some level of loss.
But listen to people's anxieties and fears, especially listen to what their emotions are telling them
and subsequently what they're telling you.
Engage everyone in developing a shared vision of what things can be to create a realistic, optimistic
future that everyone can share in
