WCA honors David and Chellie Neff and their Weird Homes Tour Initiative with the 2020 Anne Durrum Robinson Creative Initiative Award. "The tour started as a way to peek inside weird homes, but it quickly became a way to shine a light on struggling artists and affordable housing. That's what makes it such a multi-faceted communications effort," said LuAnn Glowacz in her nomination. "To date, WHT has invested more than $17,000 in local-to-each-tour affordable housing nonprofits." Christy Wylie, 2020 Banner Awards Juror, said, "The Weird Homes Tour, in addition to being a creative concept and event, embodies varied communications including a printed coffee-table book, a podcast, hundreds of press stories, a 25K-plus email distribution list and more than 18K Instagram followers. Inspired by the mission of preserving Austin’s unique artistic culture, this initiative has expanded to include many other major American cities and gives back by donating proceeds to affordable housing charities. It is truly creative and impactful!” Congratulations, David and Chellie. Video production by WCA sponsor, Matthew Lemke Productions. MatthewLemke.com
