For my money's worth, it's got to be this bizarre brawl near the end of the 1974 season between the Cubs and Cardinals.

Clearly, both teams lost their minds but what stood out to me is how umpire Shag Crawford lost his. Crawford umpired for 20 years including in a number of World Series but his judgment here was so poor, I am shocked he was not fired the next day. Apparently he was relieved of his duties in a dispute with the league about a year later. Crawford was also the umpire during another famously insane fight when Juan Marichal hit John Roseboro over the head with a bat. Tough to choose which play was crazier but I'll go with this one from 1974 because the umpire was literally calling balls and strikes with two players in the batter's box and a manager a foot away. Loco!
Also note: I am unsure who the broadcaster was here but I love his reaction, "Now wait a minute, hold on here."
