Fazıl Say - Black Earth (Kara Toprak) Piano Cover (Tutorial)

Piano cover of the fantastic work "Black Earth" by Fazıl Say from his album the movie "Black Earth" (2003). This piece is a cover of a Turkish folk song by Âşık Veysel, who was born in 1894 in Şarkışla (a town in the central Anatolian province of Sivas in Turkey). The song is a very good example of traditional Anatolian folk music and is about the life cycle of the composer Âşık Veysel, who was blind for most of his life due to a smallpox disease. The title Âşık (lover) traditionally refers to a singer-poet and bard who accompanies his singing with a long-necked lute (usually a bağlama or saz). The song Black Earth (Turkish: Kara Toprak) was first arranged for the piano by Fazıl Say. Fazıl Say's interpretation makes the song a mixture of traditional Anatolian folk music and European classical music.
I hope you are going to like my piano arrangement for this marvelous piece. Enjoy it!
