Results may vary, but it took seven days in our new time-lapse. Elephant Ears, AKA Colocasias and Alocasias, have fragile leaves but hardier stems. Losing leaves doesn't spell death; it's all just part of the normal growth process. Do make sure your plant is getting plenty of water (more for Colocasias and less for Alocasias) and partially shaded light. You might consider adding some fertilizer to boost new growth. A new leaf will emerge soon enough!
