Pheni is fried vermicelli. Pheni ki kheer is a festival special! It forms an important part of the first meal eaten by married ladies who observe the 'Karwachauth fast' in India. This is also eaten during Ramadan days and as a special delicacy on Eid. The recipe is quick and is different from the traditional recipe, so as to ensure that each strand of pheni stands out, and does not become mushy. You could enjoy this quick dessert in breakfast or after lunch and dinner.
Ingredients
Pheni vermicelli (1 cup)(50 gram)
Milk (full fat) ( 3 cup)(750 ml)
Sugar 2 tbsp or as per taste
Cardamom powder ( a pinch)
Almond sliced ( 1 tbsp)
Cashew pieces ( 1/2 tbsp)
Raisins/Kishmish ( 1/2 tbsp)
