Mike Graham is joined by Elliot Keck of Taxpayers' Alliance to discuss the breaking news of Birmingham City Council announcing they are 'effectively bankrupt' after not dealing with their growing financial issues and how they might have to make cuts into some local services to remain afloat.
Elliot suggests the significance of this is that they are the largest local authority in Europe to become 'effectively bankrupt'. Elliot also explains that many services may see less financial funding such as bin services. However, it is understood that the council has over one billion pounds in reserve that they will most likely use.
