The ABS sensors may be covered in rust and dirt when your ABS kicks on just before coming to a complete stop. This video shows what to do if you cannot remove the sensor due to it being stuck in place. This unfortunately happens a lot. Do not try to pry the sensor out. It is very expensive if you can get a replacement at all. Take off the wheel hub to clean the sensors instead.
