Public Information Coordinator, Gordon Mooneyhan, W4EGM, recently visited the Anderson Radio Club and spoke about the importance of Public Information Officers. He reminded the audience that “each one of us is potentially a public information officer. Any time someone asks us about our hobby, we have the opportunity to either make it a positive or a negative experience.”
As we enter a period of amateur radio centennials, Gordon would like us to keep some important dates in mind. First up is December 11, 2021, celebrating Marconi’s first transatlantic radio transmission. Additional events will follow, culminating with the centennial World Amateur Radio Day on April 18, 2025, celebrating the founding of the International Amateur Radio Union (IARU). Stay tuned for more details.
