On this week's episode of Dynamic Discussions, Greg and David enlighten us on how OSHA and ANSI really work hand-in-hand, and also on what makes them unique. OSHA is the Occupational Safety and Health Administration, which means that they are a governing body that distributes regulatory safety standards for jobsites and work environments. OSHA has a team of inspector personnel that visit jobs to ensure compliance with safety standards. If violations are observed, citations and fines may be administered. ANSI stands for the American National Standards Institute, and is made of a body of if individuals who use, engineer, and manufacture safety products. ANSI is a trusted voluntary set of standards that is recognized by OSHA. In fact, OSHA sometimes cites ANSI in their own mandatory regulations for superior safety measures. Make sure to check your safety equipment labels to make sure they at least meet the applicable OSHA standards for safety.
