- In this video, I have discussed the four Muscles of Mastication. A topic of Anatomy (Head and Neck) and Oral Biology.

- There are four muscles of mastication. Temporalis, masseter, medial pterygoid, and lateral pterygoid. I have discussed all of them, with all the important points that are needed to be remembered.
- All of them are innervated by the mandibular branch of the Trigeminal Nerve. Therefore, I didn't repeat the nerve in medial and lateral pterygoid due to a lack of space. But all four are innervated by the same nerve. ( Because they are derived from the 1st pharyngeal arch)
- Each muscle has it's own function. However, when we consider the movement of the entire joint, there are other muscles that also work in coordination with the Muscles of Mastication.I will be discussing the muscles involved in each of the movements in the biomechanics of the joint.
- In the diagram of medial and lateral pterygoid, both the muscles are shown simultaneously. Therefore I labeled them as not to cause any confusion.
-There are some animation and rendering glitches that may cause some issues in the animation in some places. I apologize for that, but I tried to clear the concepts as much as I can.
