In this video I talk about why I haven't been using my wide angle lens for landscape photography. Of my past 25 landscape images posted to Instagram, only 7 of those photos were taken wider than 35mm. Interestingly, not a single one of those photos were taken wider than 24mm.
This is particularly interesting to me because for a long time I made photos almost exclusively with wide angle lenses. Over the years, I've owned a variety of cameras including the Canon 70D, the FujiFilm X-T2, the Sony A7iii and with all of those cameras my primary lens was nearly always a 16-35mm equivalent lens.
Now, with my EOS R, I have two lenses - the RF 15-35mm F2.8 and the 24-105mm F4 but I find myself hardly ever making landscape photos with the 15-35mm. Watch the video to learn why!
