The Kia is now a much more handsome looking car than previous years. The front hood gracefully comes down over the mesh "tiger noses" grill and the sharp LED headlamps. The squarish wheel arcs emphasize the rims and the large rear doors. There are hints of the Kia Sportage here and in the tail lamps you'll see the Sonata, but they only reinforce the design language. The Sorenta is really its own design and comes together in a nice package that looks good on the road.
Interior
Some of Sorento's biggest changes have happened inside. Most of the cheaper looking plastics are gone, replaced by finer materials. The center deck has been changed to allow for a large 7 inch infotainment screen and even the speed gauges allow for a small information screen so necessary in cars these days. The woodgrain trim however, is cheesy and not what we would advise. Some good standard options are conveniences like auxiliary and USB ports; Bluetooth; tilt/telescoping steering; and steering-wheel audio controls. On higher trims you get a rearview camera bundled with the new version of Kia's UVO infotainment system, pretty good intuitive system. On the SX version standard options are 19-inch wheels; panoramic sunroof; roof rails; navigation; an Infinity audio system; ventilated front seats; and a power tailgate.
Given its price, the Sorenta makes a valid argument when you're looking for a family SUV. Its great for a growing family, without leaving a big dent in your pocket. That, along with the dealers excellent service and warranty, put this car on the top of your list.
