June 2024 Update: this video is close to 3 years old and we sold the van over a year ago.
🚐Stealth camping is what we do when we’re in a city and we don’t want people to know that we’re staying in the van. Some places are ok with it, others are not. Either way we try to keep it low key.
📝Here’s 5 tips we use to stay unnoticed.
1️⃣We didn’t decorate or design the outside of the van so it’s pretty unnoticable unless you know about vanlife. It blends in like a regular work van especially in the city.🌆
2️⃣Keep noise to a minimum, so no blasting music and Meghan can’t belt showtunes at the top of her lungs like she wants to.🤫
3️⃣We use blackout window covers so people can’t see in and light can’t get out at night.🪟
4️⃣We only use the front doors in the city. We don’t use the slider because that’s a giveaway that we live in here.🚪
5️⃣Act natural! We don’t want to bring any unnecessary attention to ourselves especially in a place we’re unfamiliar with.🆒
🚫If you’re in a new city try finding parking early so you can feel out the area. If you don’t feel safe, best to move on.
