Today, I'll be giving you my experience with shutdowns in the hopes that shutdowns won't catch you by surprise and you'll have more sympathy towards yourself. It's also important for non-autistic people to understand what they are and why they happen.
Raising the level of awareness of this problem will help autistic people better deal with this stressful situation and teach their friends and partners not to take it too personally!
