- Security is one of MQTT´s key concerns
- MQTT is a layer 7 protocol relying on underlying layers
- It uses an encrypted TLS channel by default
- MQTT provides authentication and authorization mechanisms
This does not apply to all MQTT brokers. Only enterprise-grade brokers like HiveMQ support all security features MQTT provides.
