In 2017, I was hospitalized because my tracheostomy tube was digging into my trachea and was causing a lot of pain and inflammation. My pulmonologist said I needed a different tracheostomy tube.
The physician looked through the inventory at the hospital. She found a tracheotomy tube which had a foam filled cuff. The doctor thought this would be an excellent tracheostomy tube to use since the foam cuff would be gentle on my trachea. The tracheostomy tube exchange was scheduled for the next day. #lifewithavent #tracheostomy
