This is what it looks like from my perspective - my camera is aligned with the edge of my desk, so you can see that the paper is rotated counter-clockwise. This makes it easier to keep the shades along the slant line. All pauses and ink dips were edited out.
If you look closely, you might notice some differences between the letterforms in the image and the video’s final result. That’s because I rewrote the quote several times (trying to get that Spencerian-inspired W!) and didn’t record the final version. It took me LOTS of tries to get it right, and I wanted to keep trying until it was perfect, but had to remind myself: “progress, not perfection”!
