Having watched The Shard London being built from the foundations upwards due to its proximity to my client, London Bridge Hotel, it has been a joy to finally enjoy The View from The Shard.

Designed by Master Architect Renzo Piano, The Shard rises to a height of 1,016ft (310m), the tallest building in Western Europe. Punctuating the skyline, visible from nearly every point in London, The Shard represents for me the regeneration of one of the capital's most historic and interesting boroughs - the Borough of Southwark. With London Bridge once being the sole bridge across The Thames, it seems quite appropriate for such a building to be built in its shadow - and we can already see the new lifeblood re-entering this area now known as London Bridge Quarter - thanks to The Shard and its smaller building, The Place.

The View at the Shard is situated at the top of the building on floors 68, 69 and 72, and is almost twice the height of any other viewing platform in London. For me, it's worth the cost of the entry fee to see London laid out before you. It is especially interesting to see the arterial motorways and train tracks which we use in our everyday lives, criss-crossing London.
