Sometimes we like to set ourselves a challenge at The Tuesday Night Music Club...
For the first time we put on a show with no vocalist in the line-up. This was met with some concern from the audience but, thankfully, they had faith and bought tickets in numbers enough to fill the room. That faith was soon rewarded as Chris Corcoran and his band filled the room with a glorious sound over two extended sets. Who needed a vocalist when each of these six consummate musicians made their instruments talk and sing. Over the evening Chris (guitar), Matt Radford (upright bass), Mike Thorne (drums), Nick Lunt (baritone sax), Lee Badau (tenor sax) and Claudio Corona (hammond) had us alternating our concentration to follow the intricate parts that made up this wall of sound. Yes, it was a different experience but, in many ways, all the better for not having one individual that commanded attention. A night of fabulous music passed us by in the blink of an eye.
As we so often say, a video cannot do justice to being there for a live show. But these few clips should give you a brief idea of what the night was like - you'd be well advised to buy tickets for the next show you see these guys playing.
Our thanks to Chris and the band for a great night of music and to everyone who came out and filled that room.
