STORYLINE:
Israeli helicopter gunships rocketed the car of a Palestinian intelligence officer in the West Bank on Saturday, killing two people and wounding 16 others.

Chanting cries of revenge, some 10,000 people attended the funeral of the two men later in the day.

Moutasem Sabaa, 26, a well-known gunman, was killed in the attack along with Ala'a Jaloudi, a Palestinian policeman who was standing nearby.

The car was hit by at least five rockets, witnesses said. Israeli authorities did not comment on the incident.

Thousands of Hamas supporters attended a rally in the West Bank town of Ramallah Saturday, to commemorate the approaching anniversary of Al-Naqba day, or 'The Disaster', the name Arabs use to refer to the 1948 establishment of Israel.

The anniversary is on May 15th.

Masked activists held models of mortar launchers, as would-be suicide bombers with fake bombs attached to their stomachs stood at the edge of the crowd.

Clamoring for revenge, the demonstrators waved Hamas flags and watched as the model of an Israeli settlement was burnt.

Hassan Yousef, spokesman of Hamas in Ramallah addressed the demonstrators.

He said Hamas would stand hand in hand with Fatah and battle against Israelis until they leave Palestine.

Meanwhile, in Gaza, hundreds of Palestinians took part in the funeral of 16-year-old Hassan Tafish, who was killed on Friday when Israeli troops fired live ammunition at several dozen stone throwers in Gaza.
