State-administered Crime Victims Funds (CVF's) were established by the bipartisan enactment of the Victims of Crime Act, also known as the VOCA Law in 1984.
The VOCA Act is designed to protect the rights of victims through the legal process and serve as a compensatory system of economic restitution and providing services for both individuals and families harmed by criminal acts.
Victims of homicide, child and senior abuse, physical or sexual assault, and domestic violence may be eligible for financial compensation and other services when affected by these offenses.
Crime Victims Funds (CVF's) are available in all 50 states.
Eligible crimes and financial compensation levels vary state-to-state.
