Today I review the Sennheiser E935, which is a $180 cardioid handheld dynamic microphone. This thing has a presence boost to help cut through a mix, and rolls off the low frequencies below 150Hz, to tame the proximity effect. It performs excellent in terms of off axis rejection, handling noise rejection, and plosive rejection, and it has a very sturdy build quality. All around, I think this is a great live stage microphone.
