High powered Toronto financial analyst of David Prince was felled by a 'catastrophic' heart attack while he and wife Susan were on vacation in Brazil in 2007. For weeks he remained in a coma on life support, on the brink of death. For two months doctors worked to stabilize him so that he could return to Canada. Back in Toronto he was put under the care of the world class team at UHN's Peter Munk Cardiac Centre. Within weeks he had two surgeries. First to install the Heartmate 2 mechanical heart, and then, a heart transplant. Eight years later David Prince is back to normal health and his regular financial analyst gig on BNN. He says if not for the care team at PMCC - "...I know, for sure, I would not be here."
