About Raghunath Temple in Jammu
Raghunath Temple is located right in the middle of Jammu, at a close distance to the Jammu Airport, and is believed to be the largest shrine complex of North India. The Raghunath Temple complex consists of seven temples, where each temple has a shikhar of its own. The presiding deity of Raghunath Temple in Jammu is Lord Rama, an avatar of Lord Vishnu.
The construction of the Raghunath Temple began in 1835 AD by Maharaja Gulab Singh, who was the founder of the Kingdom of Jammu and Kashmir. Its construction was later continued by his son, Maharaja Ranbir Singh, in 1860.
