One of the big issues in Asia is being able to exchange currency that is bent, dirty or torn. The value of the US Dollar and the Euro varies depending on the condition of the bill. Your cash needs to be clean, fresh, crisp and unbent. Of course mine was wadded up and wrinkled with a few bent corners. We literally went to a half a dozen exchange booths and were turned down. Nobody wanted our US Money ! LOL
