Session Description
Childhood cancer survival rates have significantly improved over the past 50 years with over 85% of all children diagnosed with cancer now expected to survive at least five years. However, survival comes at a cost, including increased risk for chronic health conditions, with over 80% of childhood cancer survivors experiencing a severe, life-threatening or fatal (CTCAE grade 3-5) chronic health condition by age 45 years. The lecture will highlight risk and risk factors for these late effects as well as interventions designed to change the trajectory of these late effects.
