Counting Number Of Squares in a Figure || Best Shortcut and Math Tricks to Find Number of Squares

To find the total squares in square grid or rectangular grid? is a common question asked in aptitude tests and many times asked in job interviews also. there are many ways we can solve this kind of questions, but most important thing is, what is the approach and the time you are consuming to solve the problem.

many prefer to count the squares logically and come to the conclusion about the number of squares, but with this approach there are high chances of missing some squares and this is time consuming.
also i consider this category of questions as easy ones because if you solve this question logically, it can be done in less than 10 seconds, so that you can spend more time in difficult questions.
