Singapore will not hesitate to draw on its reserves to help businesses and workers, should the COVID-19 situation worsen. Wrapping up the debate on the supplementary budget in Parliament on July 27, Finance Minister Lawrence Wong said the trajectory of the pandemic cannot be predicted. Slowdowns, pullbacks and additional restrictions remain a possibility, even as the economy reopens gradually.
