Have you ever bitten off more than you could chew? Decided to make what should be an "easy" project more difficult because...well...because? I did. 😂 Today, I attempt to pull a sewing pattern from one of my original Victorian/Edwardian bodices, using two different methods, one of which is taken from an 1890s dressmaking manual.
It wasn't easy, but I do think mixing the methods with some good ol' fashioned measuring and plotting on graph paper will result in a workable sewing pattern in the future. I'm planning on sewing both of these patterns up into quick mock-ups to see how the patterns compare to the original Victorian bodice, probably in the next month or so - so stay tuned!
