A cheaper alternative to the Yaesu SP-10 to accompany my Yaesu FT-991A transceiver. In fact this handy little-known robust speaker can be used alongside any transceiver with an extension speaker socket. What can catch people out though, is the unusual way the standard 3.5mm jack plug is wired on this speaker. This short video shows the speaker and the straight-forward conversion wiring needed to get it working on a standard 3.5mm mono (tip audio/base ground) jack plug.
Hopefully, this video helps others who’ve struggled with connecting this speaker up or anyone considering a useful extension speaker.
