British Columbia recorded its highest ever daily number of new confirmed COVID-19 cases on Monday, with 100 people testing positive from midday Friday to midday Saturday, breaking previous highs set on April 25 and Aug. 13 with 95 and 93 cases respectively.
From midday Saturday to midday Sunday, 88 cases were recorded, with another 48 in the most recent 24 hours. The total new cases over three days came to 236.
There were also two more people who died from the virus, bringing the total to 198.
The news was announced Monday by deputy provincial health officer Dr. Reka Gustafson and Health Minister Adrian Dix.
