DELHI TOWNSHIP, Ohio (Angela Ingram) -- A man accused of horrific crimes against children is in jail. Police say Kevan Williamson raped four children, three are younger than 10.
In June, police were called to Williamson's home in Delhi Township for allegedly beating the mother of his child.
After Williamson was locked-up in jail, investigators say they began looking into him further, and found evidence that he was sexually abusing children.
Delhi Police were called to Williamson's home on Cleves-Warsaw on June 19. They say he dragged his child's mother down a hallway by her hair, punched her and hit her with a baseball bat.
After Williamson was already jailed, police say they found information that led them to believe he had abused kids. Friday, a grand jury indicted him on several counts, including eight counts of raping children.
Police say the incidents happened within the past year - specifically the last few months. "He was charged, he went to the grand jury and he was indicted on a 13 count indictment for a couple of counts of domestic violence, a couple of counts of felonious assault an assault and I believe eight counts of rape. The rape was for a child under the age of 10 which does carry a life spec."
As for the abuse case, they say they don't have any reason to believe at this point that any other children were hurt. "We don't have any firsthand knowledge that there are any other victims out there however if there's anyone out there that had contact with this individual, any of their children that had contact, if there's concerns, I would encourage them to contact the police department."
Police say Williamson had been released from prison last year for attempted robbery and burglary.
They say they do not have any reason to believe at this point that any other children were abused by Williamson. Williamson will be back in court Tuesday. He's being held on a $20,000 bond.
