Challenges facing countries in the Mashreq cluster include growing populations, rapid growth in urbanization, increasing rainfall variability, and declining water quality due to pollution and salinity. GWSP facilitated work to advance technical-level cooperation by drawing on lessons learned and expertise from other partners in the region.
