Amit Sood, M.D., professor of medicine and director of the Mind-Body Medicine Initiative at Mayo Clinic in Rochester, Minn., presented “Resilient Living” Nov. 8 at Viterbo University as part of the DB Reinhart Institute for Ethics in Leadership annual lecture series.
Sood is the creator of the Mayo Clinic Healthy Living Resilient Mind program and the author of numerous books, including The Mayo Clinic Guide to Stress-Free Living, The Mayo Clinic Handbook for Happiness, Immerse: A 52-Week Course in Resilient Living, and Mindfulness Redesigned for the Twenty-first Century.
Mayo Clinic has honored Sood with its Distinguished Service Award, Innovator of the Year Award, Outstanding Physician Scientist Award, Faculty of the Year Award. He was also named the Robert Wood Johnson Health Care Pioneer. The Intelligent Optimist(formerly Ode Magazine) selected Sood as one among the top 20 intelligent optimists helping the world to be a better place. In 2016, he was selected as the top impact maker in health care in Rochester, Minn.
