Thanks for joining The Bullet Points as we do a "Snapshot" (quick / impromptu) range review of this interesting offering from Serbu: the Super Shorty Remington 870 12 Gauge Shotgun. This is not technically deemed a SBS (Short - Barrel Shotgun) by the ATF / NFA, but rather falls under the AOW (Any Other Weapon) category since it is manufactured and sold already in it's altered state from the factory using either a Maverick, Mossberg 500 or Remington 870 shotgun. It is a common rumor that this weapon costs hundreds of dollars to be able to own, however this is false (be sure to check your local state and ATF laws to be absolutely sure)... according to even Serbu's site ([ Ссылка ]), this is only a $5 tax stamp and you're good to go. It is claimed to currently be the smallest pump - action shotgun on the market as of this date. Main downside is that it (obviously) packs a whollop when you are firing even just #6 bird shot in a 12 gauge that size. But then again... who cares about recoil when it might save you or your family's life some day. We did note that this particular one did hang up after the last shell had been fired (failure to eject the last spent shell) on one occasion. From our reading, this seems to be a reoccurring issue with these Super Shorty's during their break-in period. We were extremely grateful to Darin and all the guys from North County Firearms for hosting this private shoot and for supplying the Serbu for us to try out... they have excellent customer service, great prices, are extremely knowledgeable, honest, and are good friends. They have rifles, shotguns, handguns, optics, gear, a gunsmith, and much more... go check out their site for contact info: [ Ссылка ]
