A couple in Indonesia have been jailed for abusing their domestic worker, who suffered months of abuse under their employment. The case has underscored the lack of laws to protect vulnerable domestic workers in the country, according to one lawmaker, who said the case is merely the tip of the iceberg. Domestic workers in Indonesia do not have legal status as workers while a domestic worker bill has been languishing for nearly two decades.
