In her talk Milee presents her story on how she started to work on healing environments and how she developed the connecting language between architects and healthcare professionals to put the concept into practice in the design of hospital environments. Based on her research as architect into evidence-based design in Dutch hospitals Milee Herweijer was awarded a doctorate from Delft University. She specialises in the design of what we’ve come to call healing environments. Rather than focussing on specific symptoms, ailments and patients, she extended her gaze to include something as vital as the place where we heal.
