A police officer was shot dead by a pistol-borne terrorist in downtown area of Srinagar on Sunday afternoon. The police officer was walking alone when a terrorist came from behind and shot him point blank range. The officer was critically injured and succumbed at a hospital. After the attack, security forces cordoned off the entire area and launched a manhunt to nab the attacker. The brazen terror attack occurred just meters away from a police station and a CRPF bunker.
