The Supreme Court issued a notice to the Election Commission on Friday regarding a petition related to NOTA filed by motivational speaker Shiv Khera. In this petition, the Election Commission has been urged to direct that if NOTA (None of the Above) receives more votes than any candidate, the election for that seat should be canceled, and a fresh election should be conducted. Additionally, the petition also demands the formulation of a rule that candidates receiving fewer votes than NOTA should be banned from contesting any elections for five years.
