After a massive decline in the 1970's, state and federal agencies banded together to recover the iconic striped bass to the Atlantic shoreline that continues today. Federal and state agencies from Maine to North Carolina worked together to bring this species back, supported in part by the U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service's Sport Fish Restoration Program. Through years of dedication, science, and funding, the striped bass rebound in the 1990's to create an ocean of opportunity in natural resource. These efforts of biologists were made possible by with support from funds provided by fishing equipment manufactures through the Sport Fish Restoration Program.
