STORYLINE:
As Pope John Paul II lay on his death bed in the Vatican on Friday, Poland's Roman Catholic primate, Cardinal Jozef Glemp, visited Buenos Aires.
Talking to the local media, Cardinal Glemp said the border between life and death of the ailing Pontiff was growing thinner.
"When you see life and death from a Christian point of view you find that the frontier that separates one from the other is almost invisible, is very tiny," Glemp said.
The Polish cardinal made his comments before departing to Lujan's Basilica where he was scheduled to hold Mass later in the evening.
The Archbishop of Buenos Aires has called all Argentine Catholics to go to church, to pray during what could be the pope's final hours.
At a morning mass at the Cathedral in downtown Buenos Aires, many in the congregation wept as prayers were said for the pontiff.
