In episode 5 of 2019 Montana Archery Elk with Gerber, Randy Newberg along with Andrew and Karrson head out early to climb a ridge up to where they found a bull last night. It doesn't take long to hear a bugle. So they slowly and quietly make their approach into his direction.
They commit to being patient and making absolute sure that they have good wind before they try and get any closer. Once they gain some elevation, they are able to get eyes on the bull across the drainage. The guys decide to watch him from a safe distance and then starting hiking that way.
Andrew stalks close to where they think the bull is, while the others call from behind, hoping to draw the elk within shooting distance. They get eyes on the bull at about 45 yards away, and hope to get a shot on a great public land bull elk.
