The Chalks' Famous
Trailer Park Bark™ (Vegan Edition)
SUPPLIES:
Foil-lined cookie sheet prepped w/ cooking spray
Medium saucepan
Heat resistant spatula
Metal spatula
Candy thermometer
INGREDIENTS:
1 sleeve Saltine Crackers
1.5 cups Coconut Spread
1.5 cups Dark brown sugar
2 teaspoons Vanilla Extract
1.5 cups Semi-Sweet Chocolate Baking Chips
½ cup Diced Walnuts
INSTRUCTIONS:
-Preheat your oven to 450°F.
- Tile your foil-lined cookie sheet evenly with saltines.
- Mix together coconut spread, brown sugar, and vanilla extract in saucepan over a high heat.
- Stir constantly with heat-resistant spatula until it reaches 250°F (using a candy thermometer to measure the temperature).
- Once it begins to boil (and temperature is 250°F) pour the mixture over the saltines.
- Use a metal spatula to evenly spread the caramel over the saltines, making sure they are covered on both sides.
- Top with chocolate chips and then with walnuts.
- Bake for 7 minutes at 450°F.
- Go and buy The Chalk's album "3 Girls, 3 Guitars, 3 Chords"
- Remove from oven and use your metal spatula to evenly spread the chocolate.
- Transfer to fridge and allow to cool.
- Once cool, peel away foil and break apart in between each saltine.
- Enjoy!
