An intervention by President Uhuru Kenyatta in the nick of time saved the day as Members of the National Assembly approved budget estimates for the year 2016/2017 thereby undoing a bipartisan resolution that had been reached earlier by legislators . The National Assembly had held a Kamukunji on Thursday morning to discuss a pending court case challenging the legality of the Constituency Development Fund CDF and resolved to suspend adoption of budget estimates until the High court determines the case.
