Original Song: Satu Hari Di Hari Raya by M. Nasir.
With everything that is happening all around the world, here's a little something we thought would be appropriate with the times. We hope you guys like our rendition of this song.
Feroze:
"I was sent to boarding school in New Zealand when I was 14 and it was going to be my first time spending Hari Raya alone in a foreign country. The only connection I had was a overseas phone call made to my mother on the first day of Raya, I could hear her sniffling which, without her telling me, I knew she was in tears as we asked each other for forgiveness on Hari Raya.
Desperate to feel at home in a new world, I downloaded the most familiar Hari Raya song to try and combat the feeling of isolation, Satu Hari Di Hari Raya and when M Nasir’s voice soothed my ears, my heart grew heavy. The chorus then melted my emotions and they turned into tears that ran down my cold cheeks and from that point on, this song has been a bittersweet reminder for me of the importance of being there with your loved ones when it counts because we never know when we’re going to feel isolated in a time of celebration.
Be it a pandemic or our egos telling us to take life for granted, this is the moment of realization. Show your love in person when you’re able to."
