In central Vanuatu an unusually voluminous body of magma is moving at depth which has uplifted a large swath of the Ambrym volcano. This suggests that another eruption will occur on this island in the near future, most likely in the next several days to months. Due to continuing trends at Ambrym, there is a possibility that a dangerous flank eruption could occur on its far east or a highly explosive eruption within its caldera. This video will discuss the ongoing unrest and provide some context in terms of this volcano's history.
